Summer is undoubtedly one of my favorite times of the year; the sun beats down and everything is in bloom. I had the idea for a wildflower-themed shoot and the Blue Mountain Lavender Farm seemed to be an idyllic setting. I wanted to embrace the nature surrounding us and had the girls in beautiful neutral petal tones; one in vintage Flora Nikrooz and the other in a stunning Jenny Yoo gown. The lavender was the perfect backdrop for whimsical poses and delicate windswept curls. The chiffon dresses whipped in the wind as a storm cloud approached, but we managed to steal a glimpse of sunset before it was overshadowed. The weather didn’t deter the shoot and it reminded me again of the resilience of the wildflower.
I hope you are blessed with a heart like a wildflower.
Strong enough to rise again after being trampled upon,
tough enough to weather the worst of the summer storms,
and able to grow and flourish even in the most broken places.
